We had a very fun morning! Boston, Sawyer, and Miles worked on their letter A worksheet, then we went to the playground and had popsicles. When we got back we had singing time, snacks, I read them a book, and then we had playtime. They had a blast and treated each other kindly and shared all of their toys! 

 Sawyer grabbed his popsicle (that looked like a sword) and said, "Yikes! Get your swords out, fighters!" :). 

 Boston and Sawyer loved their popsicles!

 And so did Sawyer! 

 Best outfit award goes to Sawyer, who wore the Brazilian soccer uniform to school :). 

 Miles would go down the slide and say "Wow, I'm so fast!" :).

 Miles loves the ABC phonics song. He knows it by heart and always wants to sing it again.

We had a great start to our 2nd week of Preschool. We started learning the alphabet and learned all about the letter "A" today- its sound, how to write it, we thought of words that start with the letter A, and colored different objects that start with the letter A. The students also learned how to make popsicles and then we took them to the playground and they tasted really good! We also got a new student today- Caleb Jenkins. He is so sweet and smart and fit right in. The other students are so happy he is in their class!

Today we learned all about the materials that the students will be using in Preschool this year. They practiced holding them, naming them, and explaining what they are used for. We filled out a worksheet showing all of the materials we learned about. Then we went to the playground, had snack time, singing time, we read a book, and had playtime. George, Blake, Gabi, and Sawyer did a great job today and are done with our first week!

Blake said "I'm driving the bus" (He also loves "The Wheels on the Bus" song and gets excited when we get to sing it together)

Today was Paisley's and Jared's first day of Preschool. They are great kids- very well behaved and eager to learn. We had a great time! Sawyer also comes to Preschool on Thursdays and he loves singing time. He said his favorite song is the "shape song". He asked to sing it 3 different times and had the sweetest smile on his face as he sang along.

Today's schedule

-Watched a movie clip while they waited for all of the kids to get to school

-Welcome to school activity (bird helper)

-Family activity (What is a family, why are they important, how we should treat them, followed by a color, organize, paste and label activity). 

-Paddock Playground: They played and ate watermelon

-Sing along songs (7 songs) Gabi's favorite: The animal song (ducks), Blake's favorite: The Wheels on the Bus, George's favorite: Ten in the bed (bears). 

-Reading time (2 books)

-Playtime 

-Watch a movie clip while they waited for their parents to pick them up

Tuesday Group

Today was the first day of Preschool for the group that meets on Tuesdays from 9:00 a.m.- 12:00 p.m. Boston, Sawyer, and Miles did a great job today. They were excited to be in school, to learn, share, sing, count, color, and play. Our first day consisted of: 

-Video clip (Rio to introduce the blue bird helper)

-Rules and consequences (blue bird helper)

-Sing-a-long songs (alphabet, colors, shapes, & animals)

-Snacks

-Playground/park at the Paddock

-Name activity/color activity

-Story time

-Play time

-Pictures with the first day of school sign

These boys LOVED story time. They sat quietly as I read the 3 books to them, asked questions, were curious, and surprised. I could really see them thinking. I had planned on reading 2 books, and they asked me to read one more. We had a great day! I look forward to seeing them again next Tuesday.

1st day of Preschool for M,W,F group

Week 1: "Getting to know you week". 

Today was the first day of Preschool for the M,W,F group that meets from 9:00 a.m.- 12:00 p.m. Blake, George, and Gabi did an amazing job today. They are smart, fun, willing to share, behave well, are eager to learn, and very obedient.

Our first day of the "Getting to know you week" consisted of: 

-Video clip (Rio- to introduce the blue bird helper)
-Rules and consequences (blue bird helper)
-Sing-a-long songs (alphabet, colors, shapes, & animals)
-Snacks
-Board games (colors & numbers) 
-Play time
-Play dough activity for gross motor skills
-Name activity (color letters, place them in order, glue them to the worksheet)
-Pictures with the first day of school sign

We had a fun morning and I am looking forward to seeing them again on Wednesday.
